You may have to pay a Court fee when you submit your Divorce petition to the Court and when you apply to the Court for a Decree Absolute. The Court fee for issuing a Divorce petition is £300.00 and £40.00 when you apply for Decree Absolute. You may not have to pay a Court fee or you may only have to pay a contribution toward the Court fee depending on your circumstances. For further information or to apply for a fee concession, ask the Court Staff for a copy of the Combined Booklet and Form EX160A - Court fees - Do I have to pay them? This is available from any County Court office or can be downloaded from the internet at www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk
We would strongly recommend that you contact us for further advice should there be any financial issues in dispute. If you have reached a financial agreement with your spouse you may also require advice as to how to present the agreement to the Court by way of a Consent order.
Please note the Assisted Divorce set fees do not cover any advice in respect of financial matters and you will need to contact us directly to discuss costs estimates in respect of these issues.
The aforementioned is appropriate simply for undefended Divorce proceedings.
