Catrin Scott-Thomas

Catrin graduated from Swansea University in 2010 and the following year completed the Legal Practice Course.  She then joined the Family Department in her first firm in 2012 as a paralegal, qualifying as a solicitor in 2016.  Catrin then joined her previous firm later that year, specialising in children matters.  Whilst at that firm Catrin was shortlisted for the 2018 Cardiff District Law Society Junior Lawyer of the Year Award, she was the only family solicitor featured on the shortlist.

Catrin is part of the Family Law Department at Hopkins Law and specialises in Child Care Law. Catrin has experience in dealing with matters from a Child Protection Level, to representing parents in Court when the Local Authority have made an application for the removal of the children.  Catrin has experience in a diverse mix of cases, where there have been accusations ranging from neglect to physical abuse towards children.  She also has a significant experience in cases involving allegations of sexual abuse or when parents/guardians have been accused of accessing indecent images online.

Catrin also has experience in dealing with contact disputes between parents and is committed to providing a professional service, ensuring that through some of the most difficult times, her clients feel supported.
